FYI, this won't be as detailed as my Angelo guide, since I'm not a Gus main.

Guide
Gus is a long-range Support brawler but is used more like a sniper. In this guide, I discuss his kit, tips & tricks, matchups, and my opinion on Gus. His KitAttack
Gus fires a single-target balloon that does 2160 damage(Power 11). His projectile is wide but travels slowly. His range is very long, reaching 9.33 tiles. After hitting 3 balloons, his next one will drop a spirit. Collected spirits will heal Gus or his teammates.Super
Gus uses Spooky(a balloon creation and his best friend) to shield himself or his teammates. To shield yourself, auto-aim your super. To protect your teammates, try to shoot your super at them. The super will also push enemies away.GadgetsKooky Popper: Gus explodes uncollected spirits, dealing damage to nearby enemies.Soul Switcher: Gus loses 5% health, but his next attack spawns a spirit.Star PowersHealth Bonanza: Healing gained from spirits is increased by 100%(3,200 - Power 11).Spirit Animal: Spooky increases the damage of a teammate(or you if you use it on yourself) by 25% for 5 seconds.Tips & Tricks1. Utilize his long range. He is not designed to deal with up-close fights.
2. Very Difficult Trick - When your spirit bar is full, you can shoot 2 spirited balloons if you time it right.
3. If there are assassins/tanks, save and use your super to push them away.
4. If there are no assassins/tanks around, feel free to use your super for extra damage(if you're running Spirit Animal).
5. When your spirit bar is full, and you have the Kooky Popper gadget, shoot and spam the gadget(advised to use for finishing a kill).
6. You can try and spawn your spirit close to your teammates, but I know it can be hard.MatchupsVs. Tanks: Gus should be able to defeat tanks if they can't get to him fast enough. Also, you have your super if they get too close. Keep your range.Vs. Assassins: If Gus doesn't have his super, he is cooked. You have to rely on knowing their location, maintaining range, and hitting shots until you have your super. Vs. Supports: Should be an easy matchup. You have the range, the damage, and the protection. Just know what you're doing, and you should win.Vs. Controllers: Know what you're doing. Most controllers have anti-assassin abilities, but not anti-sniper abilities. Keep your range and hit shots. (Hopefully I'm not underestimating Controllers.)Vs. Damage Dealers: The thing with true(Brawlers like Eve, are not damage dealers) damage dealers is that they can shred your super's shield. Just keep your range, and you should be fine.Vs. Snipers: Play the sniper's game, unless the brawler has weaknesses up close. Use your super for damage boost, or use it to push/pressure the sniper. Keep your range and hit shots.Vs. Throwers: Make sure there are no walls and the thrower is cooked. If there are walls, you are cooked. My Opinion on GusGus is a great brawler that I recommend you use/get. He is very versatile for a support brawler. He can be independent, but gives important support to his team. He has the range, the damage, the survivability. Treat him like a sniper(or not. You do you.) and he will be a beast. If you would like a sniper that can support his team while being able to defend yourself, he is your man. I mean...child? Enjoy haunting your opponents with the ghost child, Gus.
Game Modes

Bounty
Classic game mode for a Support-Sniper. Make sure you at least try to help your teammates, or you can cook alone. Don't be afraid to use your super for extra damage(as long as you hit shots).

Knockout
Also, classic game mode for a Support-Sniper, but save your super until the right moment. There will be lots of pressure when the smoke comes in. You can also try to clutch your teammates from dying with your super, but you know Randoms, so I won't blame you.

Wipeout
If Gus is good in Bounty & Knockout, he's good in Wipeout. Try and get as much control as you can with your teammates. Same as Bounty + Knockout.
Works Well With

Piper
Same with other snipers(Including Support-Snipers). I just used Piper as a reference(for obvious reasons). He can snipe with them, so they both can kill enemies from far away. Also, he can give super to his team-snipers for protection or extra damage(if you're running "Spirit Animal")
