There is need for Otis in the META
Phat Splatter
Otis's next attack shoots a giant ink ball that leaves a puddle, dealing 1150 damage over time for 3.8 seconds.
Ink Refills
Otis now shoots 33% more ink drops.
Damage
Deal 15% extra Damage when your Brawler is below 50% Health.
Shield
Gain extra 900 Health as a consumable Shield. The shield regenerates in 10 seconds, when at full health.
Guide
GadgetPhat Splatter is the better gadget for Otis because it garnds him area control and a little bit of splash damage, which are two things Otis lacks and help him a lot. Additionally the other gadget is really weak if compared to it because you generally want to use your Otis super to shut down an enemy tank or assassin that is pushing you, meaning he 99% of the time isn't gonna be far enough for you to risk missing the Otis super, and even if you do, if someone walks on it it's not so bad for them because they can just retreat as Otis isn't most likely going to be near.
Star PowerInk Refills is undoubtedly the best starpower because it lets him deal 4000 damage with 1 attack instead of the usual 3000. This is of course insane damage and is a must go if you want to play Otis correctly and at high trophies/ranks. The other starpower is only decent because even without it if you manage to hit an Otis super on an enemy you will be able to take him out anyway.
GEARSFor the gears I decided to go with Shield and Damage, but only really bushy map you can substitute damage with Vision
GamemodesOtis is good into most gamemodes right now (with the exception of Bounty and Knockout unless they go for a Tank). More info below.
Game Modes
Brawl Ball
On Brawl Ball, always try to lane a Tank, because he won't be able to do anything against you. (be careful though!! some tanks like Draco are able to take down Otis with hypercharge if the enemy is skilled, so don't be too aggressive.
Gem Grab
In Gem Grab, Otis is extremely versatile as he can play both mid (gemcarrier) and lane. Try to save your super for when an enemy tank or assassin is rushing your gemcarrier or to block a brawler amd make him waste his hypercharge.
Hot Zone
In Hot Zone, always try to push in with your team, never try to take out the enemies alone because Otis doesn't have splash damage.
Heist
On Heist, Otis is ecxeptionally great at keeping baserace brawlers such as Melodie,Bull or Kaze away from the hotzone. If the lanes are open, you can go up and try to hit some shots on the safe but you always have to be ready to go back defending when needed so don't push up the map too much.
Works Well With
Damian
The biggest counter to Otis are control related brawlers such as Controllers ,Throwers in closed maps and Snipers in open maps. Using an assassin alongside him is going to assure that at least one of those two gets a good matchup against the other team.
Pierce
A brawler with good range like Pierce can also be solid with Otis as he can hold a lane against other ranged brawlers, which Oti and an assassin/tank might struggle with.
