You should be able to finish kills with the gadget to save ammo or use the gadget if you don't have ammo left. You don't need the other gadget because your super breaks walls even though it can be fun to use.

Belle
I know it's kind of lore ironic but... Belle's super and range helps with keeping distance from enemies.
