Floaty Time
Starr Nova deploys an anti-gravity device, allowing teammates to float inside of the area! Cooldown: 20 seconds.
Power Level: Maximum
Hitting an enemy Brawler while transformed increases your damage by 5% to a maximum of 30%.
Shield
Gain extra 900 Health as a consumable Shield. The shield regenerates in 10 seconds, when at full health.
Damage
Deal 15% extra Damage when your Brawler is below 50% Health.

Here is why this build is the best one for Nova! ☄️GADGET: FLOATY TIME is the best gadget for Starr Nova without a doubt. With this Gadget, Starr Nova throws down a floating device which allows her and her teammates to fly in the zone it creates. This Gadget can allow Starr Nova and her teammates to fly over obstacles which would not be possible without the gadget. No other Brawler can do that. Since the gadget allows you to fly, it also makes you invincible until you land again. Starr Nova can use Floaty Time to avoid getting hit by dangerous attacks e.g. activating your gadget to avoid a Chester Hypercharge about to land on you. She can throw the gadget down to escape when shes about to die, or save a teammate from dying. Aswell as that, I recommend you to use the Super and Gadget together. Since her Super dash is slow and short and makes her vulnerable, you can throw the gadget infront of you and use your super into it to fly and get close to the enemy while being invincible. Now you may have seen Tiktoks of Starr Nova game play showing how 'trash' this Gadget is is and how it can sabotage her team, but it is because you need to use it correctly and carefully. Her other gadget 'Shining Starr of Friendship and Justice' is decent but it definetly does not provide the same value as Floaty Time. It travels very slowly and the enemies can predict you easily when you teleport, I would advise you to not use it.STAR POWER: POWER LEVEL MAXIMUM is Nova's better Star Power. Everytime Nova hits an enemy while in her sword form, her sword will deal 5% more damage (max 30%). This increases Starr Nova's potential damage while in her Super form. It also indirectly increases her healing and survivability capabilities, since she heals based on the amount of damage she does with her sword. If you hit multiple enemies at once, it will increase your damage faster and make you heal more. Her other Star Power 'Mystical Star Technique' is the weaker one. It makes Nova's main attack while in base form heal her teammates a small amount. The healing is too little, also it is a waste. Nova's normal form basic attack is one of the best attacks in the game and she should use it solely for attacking enemies, not healing teammates. It also makes her sword/super form weaker (less potential damage and self healing) and therefore lowers the value she can earn from her Super,Damage Gear: This gear is great and useful on almost every Brawler. Since Starr Nova is an assassin, she has to get close to deal damage which means she may take damage. When she drops under 50%, her damage will increase by 15%. This can allow her to beat close match ups. It also indirectly increases her healing from her Super, since her self-heal is based on damage dealt with the sword form.Shield Gear: This gear is ideal for Starr Nova. Starr Nova is an assassin, which means she has to get close or in the enemies range to deal damage. Having an extra 900 HP will increase her survivability as an assassin.EXTRAS- Speed Gear is okay, but only if the map is very bushy. Starr Nova's movement speed is already very fast. I'd recommend DMG + Shield still.
- Health Gear is okay. It allows Starr Nova to regenerate full health quicker after being damaged. However, Nova can already heal herself with her super form. Use Shield instead.
- Vision gear is situational. It can be useful in certain maps but not alot.
- Gadget Cooldown is not that great. Although Starr Nova's gadget has high value, you shouldn't spam it and only use it in valuable moments. You don't need to activate the gadget alot.NOTESWhen drafting with Starr Nova, be careful of what the enemies pick and be mindful of what your teammates already have picked. Don't pick her early as to not let your enemies full counter you.Starr Nova is best when...
- the enemies have low burst dps
- the enemies are using squishy brawlers
- the enemies have attacks that require aim / are easier to dodge (you have enough speed to dodge)
- they have throwers
- the map has obstacles you and your teammates would benefit from being able to fly over
Starr Nova is worse when...
- they have assassin counters
- they have high burst dps
- their team has a high health pool e.g tanks (you don't have enough dps to defend)
- the map is too open
Game Modes
Heist
Starr Nova works as a good assassin in Heist. Her Floaty Time gadget can allow her and her teammates to take lanes or important positions. She also can kill squishy Brawlers easily with auto aim as long as they're in range of her normal form attack e.g. Crow, Colt. Her fast movement speed allows her to dodge enemy attacks easily. She can be excellent at holding lanes and protecting her safe. However, she may struggle to damage the enemy safe on her own.
Brawl Arena
Starr Nova is an excellent Brawler for Brawl Arena. Her normal form attack can pierce through robots and enemies, allowing her to clear enemy robots quicky. She can also quickly kill any squishy Brawler with her normal form attack as long as theyre in her range. Her Super gains the damage boost from hitting robots, and she also heals from the robots if she hits them with her sword. Pro tip: Use Starr Nova's super on the cluster of 4 big robots that spawn in the middle of the map to level up quickly.
Brawl Ball
Starr Nova is a decent Brawler for Brawl Ball. Her normal form attack is very strong and hard to dodge and is annoying for enemies to deal with. Her very fast movement speed makes her hard to hit, and her Floaty Time gadget allows her to dodge attacks. or gain positioning.
Hot Zone
Starr Nova is decent in Hotzone. Again, her Normal form attack is very strong and hard for enemies to dodge. Her fast movement speed allows her to dodge enemy attacks or close gaps. Her Super form increases her movement speed alot, which can allow her to chase and kill any squishy brawler e.g an annoying thrower behind a wall. Her Floaty Time gadget increases her survivability and can be used to land on throwers hiding behind a wall, or gain positioning.
