Guide

Chester is one of the most unique brawlers in the game, and as a Chester main, I can give you the best advice on how to play him and have fun. So without further ado, here is my Chester master build:Many people say you should waste your first and second attack. That's not true. Chester's first bell is a good way to push away snipers, so keep it if you might face a sniper. Also doing the 3-4-1 sequence is a no brainer, since you deal more damage with 2-3-4. and with just the 2-3 you kill most assassins. Unless you're playing a really bushy map (where you must keep your 2-3-4 sequence at all times to avoid ambush attacks) you should use your attacks at mid-long range to charge your super. In 3v3/duo/trio you can chip away the enemies health and allow your team to push forward, while charging your own super. Once you got your super AND the 2-3-4 bell sequence ready, you can push an enemy. I'll quickly explain how to use each super to secure a kill:
1) Candy Popper: Most people would just throw it at the enemy. WRONG! The enemy can easily dodge it because of how slow it is. You firstly approach the enemy and what you want to do is to pop Candy Beans, and depending on what you get you do the following:
- Speed: Best case scenario you get a speed buff, allowing you to catch up to the enemy. Once you're close enough throw the bomb ahead of your enemy and push them towards it. They can choose to walk in the bomb or walk into you, both killing them
- Reload: Second best case scenario. You use your attacks to chip down the enemies health. Then you can choose to use the bomb or continue using attacks
- Damage: Similar to Reload, you use your attacks to chip down the enemies health and once you run out of attacks, the enemy might come closer to kill you and you can use the bomb if they do so, otherwise try to throw it ahead of them
- Health: Worst case scenario. You can tank a few attacks with it, making it easier to dodge for a few seconds
Keep in mind that you should use the Candy Popper to kill throwers, as Chester gets countered by them. You should also use the bomb if there's 2 or more enemies grouped up because it instantly reloads your super
2) Jawbreaker: Literally the easiest to push any enemy besides throwers, but works best with assassins and snipers. Aim the jawbreaker and if you hit an enemy near the end of the supers range, you should pop Candy Beans hoping for speed. Otherwise Chester's base speed is enough to get there while the enemy is stunned
3) Salmiakki: This one is a little different than the rest. You use it after you damage the enemy enough. Salmiakki deals 1k damage on impact, and 580 every second for 7 seconds. That adds up to around 5k damage, but for safety measures use the super on enemies with 4k or less hp, then back up and watch as the enemy dies.
4) Strong Mint: By far the easiest to use. You can either pop it as soon as you take a bit of damage(if playing showdown/are in a 1v1), or back up, pop it and engage again (if playing 3v3)
5) Pop Rocks: Now this defines if you're a Chester master. Pop Rocks has a lot of potential as a super, but it's really hard to get much use out of it. What I do is push enemies and when I manage to push them in a corner or a dead end, I use the super, forcing them to walk through the slowing area, or just wait and heal up to push them in the dead end. You can also use pop rocks to slow assassins near you, while you use Candy Beans to prepare the attack. In 3v3 you can risk yourself to spawn the pop rocks inside the enemy base to annoy them and also allow your team to control the center better. You continue to do this until your hypercharge is ready. These are the most efficient ways to use Chester's hyper:
1) Showdown:
- ALWAYS use the hypercharge bomb on 2 or more players. That way you can recharge it instantly and throw 1-2 more. The most you can get out of the hypercharge are 3 hyper supers and another super.
- If there is a single player near you hidden behind a wall, pop the hypercharge and throw it on that player. The bomb will destroy the wall and you can secure a kill and reload your super. Then quickly throw another bomb on the nearest players to maximize the outcome of the hypercharge. If there's no players nearby use it on walls/bushes that might help you if destroyed
- If there's a single player, but they're too far for you to catch them in time, DO NOT USE THE HYPERCHARGE.
- Optional: if you want you can keep 1 bomb when you're near the end of the hypercharge to use it and charge your hypercharge with itOther tips:
- You can swap the shield with the speed gear in maps filled with bushed, but I like keeping the shield because it makes Chester feel a little more tanky
- You should use a weird walking pattern when approaching enemies, so they cannot predict your movement
- You should pair Chester with support brawlers to make attacks easier, or with thrower counters to defend him

Game Modes

Duo Showdown

Duo Showdown

Imo playing Duo/Trio showdown is best for Chester because he can be aggressive without risking to lose the match (if he dies in solo it's game over)

Knockout

Knockout

In Knockout Chester has to be sneaky. Play him in maps like Flaring Phoneix, Goldarm Gulch etc that have big bushes. Chester can hide there and dodge attacks, making the enemy believe there's no one there. Then if the enemy pushes he gets a kill, which can confirm a win

Boss Fight

Boss Fight

Not for pushing trophies, but Chester's arsenal allows for some crazy damage on the Big Boss. Keep that in mind if you want to push to the last insane

Works Well With

Byron

Byron

Byron can heal Chester while he's going aggressive, and can hide behind Chester to not take damage

Dynamike

Dynamike

Not just Dyna, but any thrower/thrower counter is good with Chester to defend him

Meeple

Meeple

Meeple might seem like a strange pick, but the reload speed from the super gives Chester a huge advantage. Also both of Meeple's gadgets are good. His mansion can save Chester when he's low, and his ragequit can stun enemies for Chester to kill

Finx

Finx

Finx is another strange pick, but his slowing zone can help Chester push throwers and snipers, both of which are direct counters to him
