Guide
Stage 1:
- I would say Surge is one of those Brawlers that get VERY OP throughout the game (like Clancy). Unfortunately, at this stage, he isn't that good! This is where the star power comes in. Honestly, my strategies for most maps, especially Brawl Ball, is to play quite aggressively on Tanks (if there are tanks) and farm your super while keeping them at bay at the start of the game to have Stage 2 for longer. MOST IMPORTANT THING: YOU CANNOT GET TOO FOCUSED ON YOUR TARGET AND LET THE OPPOSING TEAM SCORE! If you are beating up a tank, say Bibi, and your team cannot keep up with the opposing team, you will be forced to move back to protect the ball, and Bibi will take advantage and kill you, resulting in an easy goal for your opponents. KEEP AN OPEN EYE AND NEVER PLAY TOO AGGRESSIVELY.Stage 2:
- Here is where it gets complex. For brawlers you can easily kill, play aggressively and take advantage of your speed by keeping a certain distance but always staying at range so you can kill the other brawler. Unless you are attacking a brawler with some specific conditions (such as the brawler cannot run away easily), try and use the mobility from charging your super as well as the damage (you can use it to get to stage three at the star by jumping over the wall near your spawn area and playing better instead of using your damage).Stage 3:
- Stage 3 changes your play style to Tank-Assassin to Marksman-Assassin. You no longer need to be so cautious! This is why Surge is pretty good on open maps as well! Don't be too cautious about losing your stage because you can easily farm your super, but try not to die before getting your super.Stage 4:
- It should be easy now, but don't play too aggressively on tanks because they have too much health. Use your splitting bonus to target all your enemies at once, leaving easy pickings for your team.Gadget:
- Always hit 2 of your shots before using gadget at advancing brawlers. This, way, you get 5 shots with damage reduction instead of just 3 with damage reduction.
Game Modes

Brawl Ball
Backyard Bowl, Beach Ball, and Sneaky Fields are the best maps for Brawl Ball.

Showdown
Change your Star Power into the splitting one because the other Star Power is useless. Otherwise, you can play very aggressively at Stage 3 and 4. Skull Creek and Stormy Plains are the best maps for Showdown.
