Guide
Colt is not easy to play because you probably wouldn't be reading this if he was, and I would not have to make this. We've all faced a good colt (especially with chum balls and for those who remember mutations), and we all know how annoying a good one is. My job is to show you how to be a good one.Colt is a mid-range, low-health damage dealer who also does excellent close range, as his burst damage comes in handy. His main attack, Six Shooters (as the name implies), shoots six bullets that deal significant damage. His main attack is very thin and his super, and the bullets shoot at different times, so make sure to move the way your target is moving to land all your shots. His super, Bullet Storm, shoots 12 bullets and "breaks" obstacles. However, keep in mind that his super is also very thin, and if you use it to break walls, the bullet disappears after hitting the obstacle, so try to break only a few walls with it to get the most damage. Also, a singular bullet from Colt's main attack does more damage than one bullet from his super. It's a useless fact, but not many players know this. You can also copy your opponent's movement, like his main attack, to hit all of them, so even if you miss some of the bullets, you can recover and at least hit some of them. The first gadget, Speedloader, reloads two ammo instantly. This can help in many 1v1s as your enemy is usually at low ammo, too, and having two extra in handy could make the difference. Play this gadget on more open maps and modes and in Heist. The second gadget, Silver Bullet, does the same amount of damage as 2 of his regular bullets, pierces through obstacles, and breaks them.
Please feel free to use them; they are both excellent for specific maps. Magnum Special, Colt's first power, increases his range and bullet speed by 11%. This is helpful on more open maps because, more often than not, you will find yourself shooting at max range, and on a balanced map, like Shooting Star and even Hideout for that edge. Using this star power on more open or balanced maps would be best, as it pairs well with Speedloader. Slick Boots, Colt's second star power, increases his movement speed by 12%. Use this one on more closed maps as you can maneuver your way closer to the enemies and burst them down with range (if you like playing like that, I can't control you). The hypercharge Dual Wielding gives a 26% speed buff, a 25% damage buff, and a 5% shield buff, and it gives Bullet Storm a broader coverage by 120% (it makes super bigger). Just try to use your hypercharged super on multiple enemies, as you can cycle better. If you already know Colt, here are some tips:MOVEMENT: Colt can be played in many ways, as an almost long-range assassin and a regular damage dealer. You can hit more shots by moving in the same direction as your enemy to land all bullets. (If you need to visualize this, watch pro gameplay or shoot me a request, and I can help you a bit. I'm not a pro, but I'm sure you can learn something.) Shoot one way and super the other to control your enemy's movement and make your shots undodgeable.DAMAGE: You can interrupt Colt's main attack with his super, so try to use this to line up your super and do some extra damage. It also helps recharge your super faster.Sorry about the video; I thought watching gameplay was the best Colt guide.
Game Modes
Heist
We have all gotten cooked by a hypercharged Colt on that one Heist map have we? Must ban in this mode.
Knockout
He is really good in Knockout as he can win 1v1s really easily (both long range and short), deals high DPS, and breaks walls because we all hate throwers.
Brawl Ball
Trickshots. Most Colt clips are in Brawl Ball, and he can trickshot. Search it up. Basically the same reasons as Knockout.
Showdown
Colt is really good in showdown due to his high damage output and his ability to ramp up in cubes so easily. When playing Colt in this mode, you want to play so aggro that you start sweating after every showdown match. I'm joking on the sweating part, but you get the point. Colt is not a passive brawler. Your goal is to collect as many cubes as possible and start pressuring brawlers. Think about it, the more you pressure, the more you get kills, and the more kills you get, making the game easier and making you harder to kill during the latter stages. This is how you hit the clips.
