Guide

Place your MA in the back, in one of the corners. Defend the MA from Prince and Miner with your Barbarian. Use the Guard to defend the Barbarian. Attack back units with the Miner and the MA. Use the Dart Goblin to increase tour DPS.
First thing to upgrade is Miner, use his first upgrade. Then upgrade Barbarian with second star and Dart Goblin with first. If your facing a Shield Maiden, upgrade your MA. On third round upgrade Miner to third ability and Barbarian or Dart Goblin to respectively their first or second ability. You usually don't need to upgrade your Guard.

Counters

Archer Queen

Place Barbarian King and Miner on opposite sides, so when the Archer Queen targets the BK, the Miner will get full value off his Backstab ability.
Use the MA to pierce through the enemy's defense and Barbarian and Dart Goblin as DPS.

Shield Maiden

Don't let your Dart Goblin and Barbarian attack the Shield Maiden while her Super is up: they'll just get destroyed. Distract the Shield Maiden with the BK and the Guard and attack the other troops with Dart Goblin, Barbarian and Miner.
The MA does 2/3 damage (depending on star level), so he's perfect to attack the Shield Maden
