Flexible deck with multiple options of strategies and counter strategies.
Deck
Guide
Each unit in this deck, excluding dart goblin, has specific ways of changing the tide of battle, manipulating the battle into your control, and providing multiple counters to different decks. This deck has been tested in Diamond 3 at the highest, and has had a winrate of more than 75% by the guide’s author. The units and their roles are as follows:
Skeleton King - Tank, Position Manipulation, Crowd Control
Skeleton King is a great damage soaker, while also dealing a considerable amount of constant damage itself. It has the ability to disperse grouped enemies and restrict any buffs they may receive from eachother with its boost ability. It’s revival passive also allows the user to control where the enemy moves into your territory, possibly splitting them up into easy pickings for the deck’s backline. This gives the opportunity to pincer enemy units and also survive enemy burst (Spear Goblin, Prince, etc). Placing him correctly is crucial for success. It is usually best to place him in front of a backline unit, and close to the knight.
Knight - Tank, Position Manipulation, Crowd Control
Knight is also a great damage soaker for initial burst damage, and is also great for manipulating enemy targeting. If the opponent places their units poorly, some units may find themselves stuck trying to reach the knight for its taunt duration, which gives the deck user a huge advantage in the start of each fight. Place the knight close to the Skeleton King to soak some damage for him, as Skeleton King can carry in some situations. In some cases you may need to upgrade Knight to level 2 for the extra taunt duration, but often times you will not need to upgrade him at all.
Electro Wizard - DPS, Crowd Control
Electro Wizard 1 star is crucial for this deck, as the 5 person stun is amazing for getting the upperhand and delaying enemy boost abilities, which this deck lacks in. He also does considerable damage with each regular attack. Usually he will be placed in one of the three middle columns, on one of the two back rows while hiding behind a front liner.
Wizard - DPS, Anti-Heal
As healing is very popular at the moment, wizard is great for anti heal, and does considerable burn damage at level 1. If the enemy relies heavily on healing effects (uses any of the healing units), try to level him to level 2 by the third battle. Otherwise, he can probably be placed last on the battlefield, as you will get more use out of other unit’s damage / ability to control the battle.
Miner - DPS, Anti-Carry, Position Manipulation
Miner is your anti carry. This deck has four main weaknesses: Archer Queen, Witch, Dart Goblin and Archer. Miner is your solution to these units, and predicting your opponents placement is crucial to using him effectively. Miner at level 1 will be fine for Archer Queen, Archer and Dart Goblin, but Miner 2 for Witch is crucial to delay her ability to spawn skeletons. The miner can also be used to pull some attention much like the Knight, and allow the rest of your units to chew away at the enemies’ front line.
Dart Goblin - DPS, Carry
Dart Goblin is your main carry. While other units in the deck do decent damage, there is no real damage dealer that can come through if the battle becomes an extended fight between tanks. Make sure to at LEAST level him to level 1, and higher if levelling other units is not required. Dart Goblin can come in clutch for DPS, and even help miner against Witch if needed.
For general strategy:
- If you have the advantage, play for the future. This deck can win early, but will more often then not have to rely on winning in the late game.
- Don’t spend elixir unnecessarily, and don’t place your gizmo until the enemy has placed theres (unless you’re on two losses and you have to do whatever you can to try to win).
- Understanding your enemy’s deck and exploiting their weaknesses is crucial, and to do this, it may have to include giving them the upperhand for one round.
